Banana Desert

I found this great recipe and thought I would share it!

Bananas are rich in potassium (450mg) and magnesium (33mg). Potassium can help a pregnant woman reduce her swelling. From babycenter.com, “Research suggests that proper levels of magnesium during pregnancy can help keep the uterus from contracting until week 35. Dropping levels at this point may start labor contractions. Magnesium also helps build strong bones and teeth, regulates insulin and blood-sugar levels, and helps certain enzymes function properly. Research indicates it may also control cholesterol and irregular heart beats.”

Cocoa-Banana Frozen Dessert

Ingredients
4 very ripe bananas
2 tablespoons pure unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons real maple syrup

Instructions

1. Peel the bananas and place in a blender or food processor along with the cocoa powder.

2. Add the vanilla extract and the maple syrup.

3. Blend till very smooth. Pour into individual custard cups or small bowls and freeze until just frozen.

This recipe is from Dr. Weil.com.

Enjoy!
